Change/Addition of plans

Damn it, you know what I was originally going to do this weekend? Come home from Toyota City Friday night, rest in Yokkaichi Saturday, head to Nagoya for Capoeira practice Sunday afternoon, then come back here, straighten up a bit, maybe draw or read or something, go to sleep at a reasonable hour.

Instead, I went to Nagoya Saturday morning, went to a show and a club, slept Sunday morning for an hour at a time at 1) the corner of an intersection, 2) an ATM corner, and 3) a chair on the patio of a Coco convencience store, went to Capoeira practice (more on that in a moment), then finally came back to Yokkaichi at about 9PM just in time to bump into some random person and hang out with them till 1 in the morning. So now I'm just saying "fook it" and blogging till whenever.

Not complaining, though! I met a lot of people this weekend. Probably too many, in fact, for me to keep track of. I will try anyway, omitting the people I've already forgotten.

- I met Kyohei the BASTARD!!'s friends who are both 23, but look like they are 12. Since according to them I live the "Heavy Metal Life," everything I did would get the "Heavy Metal" prefix attached to it; for example, Korean pizza with tabasco sauce all over it is "Heavy Metal pizza." I hope they were drunk and not just incredibly simple-minded to the point where they found this hilarious every time.

- I met 2 little Japanese punk girls who claim to like Mastodon. We're going to see Trivium/Arch Enemy in October or November .. should be fun.

- I met a lot of Brasilians, including 2 DJs, one of whom was named Fat Mike. Another was a drunk guy who couldn't speak Japanese or, apparently, Portuguese. All I heard the guy say all evening was "Death Metal," "T(h)rash Metal" and "Superjoint Ritual." And I talked to him for an hour. Speaking of Brasilians, I also met

- the most beautiful girl in the world. Finally! Anyway, I forget her name, but she's from Brasil, has lived all over Japan for the past seven years, and likes System of a Down. What more do I need to know, really? Oh yeah, her phone number. Unfortunately she's about the only person whose number I didn't get. I will learn some Portuguese (other than meia lua di compassa), find her again and impress her. That is my goal!

- at Capoeira (practice was good .. the sensei is a prominent figure in Japan, and a lot of the students have blue cordaos, and a lot of focus is placed on the music, but the only thing is .. the roda at the end was bloody awful; it was just the advanced students trying to be better than they actually were and flying completely out of control, kicking people not in the jogo more often then they'd kick each other), I met a Brasilian named Daniel who I'll probably become friends with, and an American girl named Julie whom I'll probably talk to if I have to, but the weird part came after practice when I randomly met this guy who claimed to be the son of the original drummer of the band War, Harold Brown. He turned out to be the most conceited guy I've ever met, and I started to think he was full of shit, so I just looked him up and I don't think it's the same guy (unless it's a really old picture). Nevermind .. it was more interesting when I thought it was the actual guy.

- So then I come back to Yokkaichi and randomly get talked to by another American girl named Jenn who is living here for the next year or so. We go out for dinner and she shows me her place .. this lady has been all over the world twice, yet she doesn't speak any other languages. She doesn't even understand Japanese and she's been over here since January. It's a shame because she's in great shape and does yoga, and is attractive in a plain sort of way, but the whole no-language thing just kills me. Plus, I didn't come over here to meet American girls, n'est pas? I came over here to learn how to design Wiring Harness Components, damn it!

Oh, and check out this group Hifana .. It's like Toejam and Earl meets Samurai Shodown, which is weird, because those are both video games and this is a band. NOTE: You will not like it if you only like metal. Though I have to admit, this last track which has so far been 12 minutes of clicking noises is starting to get a little old.

Hmm, it'll be nice to sleep on something a little less trying on the spine this evening. (twitch)

Nah, I'm sure he'll realize after reading a couple more posts that this blog isn't so much about Japan as it is about some whiny bastard trying to figure out what the fuck what he wants to do ...
