Reading is good

I like to look for answers everywhere, but sometimes you don't even have to look. I went to the "book-store" during lunch to read a few chapters of anything by Dave Eggers and see if it'd be worth buying, but I only got to the second paragraph of How We Are Hungry before I was sold:

I'd been having trouble thinking, finishing things. Words like anxiety and depression seemed apt then, in that I wasn't interested in the things I was usually interested in, and I couldn't finish a glass of milk without deliberation. But I didn't stop to ruminate or wallow. Diagnosis would have made it all less interesting.

He even used the word "ruminate!" I just used a Spanish derivative of that word! It's a sign!

That story turned out to be about riding horses and visiting pyramids in Egypt, but even though it held no answers for me, I'm glad I bought it and look forward to reading it this evening.

You know, I could just read it in the bookstore. I could also download albums instead of buying them, and just wait for other people to buy DVDs I want so I can constantly borrow them. But I want to give money to those responsible for creating these things. That is the only reason I buy anything!
