Who's the master, Leroy
Hmm, I could have sworn I was going to say something.
On second thought, I guess I wasn't .. I just didn't feel like doing any work and this is one of my automatic defense mechanisms against working.
Here's a topic: Is it better to be really good at one thing or sort of good at everything? Special K (in an old Eddie Murphy joke, this is also the name of his retarded cousin) and I have discussed this endlessly, and I think we usually lean toward "being really good at one thing," but I think that's also the harder route because it involves more work and less fun. Plus, how do you pick that one thing? You know you'll have to all but forgo everything else you like to do. On top of that, you'll have to sacrifice your social life too, assuming you had one to begin with.
But yeah, striving for mastery. Musashi was all about it. MC Escher said to spend most of your life mastering the technical aspect of your art, and then later you can really play around with it. That seems to be the consensus among those who mastered things in their lives. "Do what I did. Then we'll talk."
I'd like to say I'm still looking for different things, trying to narrow down what I want to focus on, but really, I only have a few interests I pursue, and only a couple of those would qualify as an art worth improving in. For example, I'm not going to become a master of Buying CDs or Eating Vietnamese Food. (or am I..?)
Actually the answer is probably right in front of me, but I can't bring myself to start it up again because I'm afraid that I actually suck and it's going to be too hard. Hooray for fear!
Please ignore this post.

you got the first part right, but you know, I've never really explored any other kind of art. I need to try some other stuff too before I settle on comics. But yeah, we are definitely thinking along the same lines ..

Or vector art..
>Keep in mind that you can't make money at any art
You can, once you're dead, so hurry up and die!

It's going to be hard, because to do any one thing you want, you first must learn to (9) do nothing which is of no use.
Good Luck...

Good luck my foot! Just fucking do it. What happens if you fail? You go get a fucking job and feel like you wasted some of your life. Is that any different than now?
Actually, you could end up broke, addicited to ritalin, and sucking dick like Bob Saget. But I think you have enough friends who would be willing to help you to do it for at least a little while.
Woo... italics!

(sniff) aww, you're the best, Z. Monkey!
But I think Jeff was wishing me luck learning to do nothing which is of no use. That's going to be a tough one. For example, today I spent 9 hours sitting there not really doing anything. And now I'm going for a run, which also doesn't accomplish anything. Shit!

I guess reading comprehension was never my strong point.
