¿Qué es la vida?

Una sombra, una ficcion?
Y los sueños, sueños son? What??

Is there an accent mark over the "o" in "ficcion?" I can't remember. Shit.

Would you hate me if I told you I bought the first season of Home Movies on DVD? Well, I don't care. I used to watch that show Sunday nights on [adult swim] when I lived in the hotel, and once you get used to the stupid "squiggle-vision" (which they sort of abandoned as the show progressed) and the fact that the characters are always interrupting each other and occasionally laughing at their lines (a lot of it is improvised and then animated), you realize that it's just funny as hell. Not that I have a TV so it matters now, but it's a shame they got rid of that and keep showing crap like .. what do they show now, anyway? Aqua Teen for 3 hours a night? Nothing against Aqua Teen or anything .. it's made me laugh once or twice out of the dozen or so episodes I've seen. Home Movies is much more consistent, and revolves around a "plot," and, you know, usually makes some kind of sense.

But I'm not here to talk about cartoons. Oh wait, yeah I am. マイクサン and I went to see the new Otomo Katsuhiru flick Steamboy last weekend, and I was pleasantly surprised. I thought it'd be some cool eye candy and completely nonsensical dialogue, but what I got instead was more candy than anyone's eyes could ever possibly suck on in one sitting, and Patrick Stewart, yes, Patrick Stewart as a mostly naked old man repeatedly screaming such choice lines as, "WHAT IS THIS??" and "WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF SCIENCE?!?" I'll probably actually get this DVD once it comes out, just to see it in the original Japanese .. Patrick Stewart is cool and all, but the voices of the kids just got annoying (surprise surprise). As for the movie itself, it's one of those deals where it raises all these ethical questions .. and then some stuff happens .. and then the world almost blows up. Actually the end reminded me of the end of Cat's Cradle, which was pretty badass.

Oh yeah, and they beat the fuck out of this little Chihuahua. Hah, take that!

I forget what any of this has to do with the meaning of la vida.
