I'm on fire

Oi!

Man, I hate it when I'm driving in the rain and every time I go to pass a semi, I get a windshield full of blinding mist until I am safely around them. And I can't speed by, because if I go any faster I'll hydroplane off the fucking highway. Why doesn't someone do something about this?

There, glad I got that out of the way.

Anyway, for as much as I do bitch about things (which is a lot), I also fully acknowledge that I have absolute freedom to do whatever I want, and therefore any problems I claim to have are things that I could solve if I wasn't such a lazy-ass. I'm able to appreciate this a lot more when one of my close friends is confronted with a situation they have little to no control over.

You ever try really hard to cheer someone up, and it ends up mostly only working on yourself? I think I did that. Or, maybe I just had a really good day. Hey, if you're going to give yourself the day off, you might as well go out for sushi, buy a new pair of (long overdue) running shoes, drink some crazy-ass coffee/espresso drink named after Arthur Schopenhauer, go to Capoeira practice, buy some CDs/DVDs, smoke a hookah, eat some middle eastern food, and watch the first 2/3 of Amores Perros. That's my new motto. Catchy, right?

My (currently) positive outlook for the future is not dampened by my friend's dilemma, it is .. what's the opposite of dampened .. dried?? Yes, my outlook for the future is completely dried off. Maybe I'm just glad I don't have to make such a difficult choice.

You don't know the guy, but wish my friend 小林 luck deciding which major component of his life he wants to sacrifice for the next few years.

You could always tell 小林 that Led Zeppelin said it best in their little ditty, "Stairway to Heaven"...

Yes there are two paths you can go by
but in the long run
There's still time to change the road you're on

it would be hypocritical of me to advise someone to turn back and start over if they feel they've made the wrong choice, n'est pas? Actually I think my advice was "pick something and stick with it no matter fucking what." That's how I like to do things!

Squeeze my lemon 'til the juice runs down my leg
Squeeze it so hard, I'll fall right out of bed
Squeeze my lemon, 'til the juice runs down my leg.

I do not really care to give advice right now (or quoting song lyrics as seems to be the precedent). I currently think it is overrated and (a) ignored if it is good or (b) taken if it is bad. In most cases it never works out anyway.

For example where is that picture of Dan's bloody toe done up all vectorific? If he did actually do it would it end up looking like a finger instead? It is difficult to say.

Oh... and I hear that http://thatguy.blogspot.com is not taken yet.

I "took care of" that toe in 1999. Now my feet are just mangled from not buying new running shoes often enough.

Z. Monkey's stance on advice reminds me of an old Tokyo Damage Report Guy rant. It makes sense in a way, but when someone you know is struggling to make a decision, do you just stand back and go "sucks to be you?" hmm ...

Plus, I may require people to include a song lyric in their comments from now onor I will delete them. But, maybe that will just discourage people from commenting.

Learn to swim!
