Wheeee
Blah blah blah, spent the weekend going to shows, drinking sake with bands and riding trains at 6 in the morning. Not that I'm getting bored with it, but I can only type the same thing so many times.
I was going to send out some kind of mass e-mail type thing asking everyone what the fuck they're doing over Christmas/New Year's, but then I thought, pretty much everyone I'd want to ask reads this thing (all 5 or 6 of you), so I'll just do it here. Anyway, I'll only be in the US from the 24th till the 5th of January. Shitty deal, right? Well, they're paying for my ticket, so I'm in no position to complain.
I'm thinking I'll spend the first few days in New England, and then go to Philly either for New Year's or immediately afterwards. The only thing I really have to do is buy about a year's worth of clothes to bring back with me, since I am wearing mine out and can't really buy any that fit over here.
In the meantime, I'm looking forward to the following:
- work-related trip to Tokyo on Tuesday, since anything that gets me out of the office is good
- visit from Heather's friend I've never met on Wednesday, possibly
- kicking everyone's ass in Chinese on Thursday night
- some kind of Alfonse Mucha exhibit or something Friday night
- Bunraku puppet show in Osaka on Saturday
- alleged metal show, again in Osaka, the following Sunday
- Rosencrantz and Guildenstern (by the Nagoya players) with Jacqui the next Saturday
- watching the first two Karate Kid movies (called "Best Kid" over here) on DVD which I just bought today for 500 Yen apiece
- reading Haruki Makami book #3 which I also grabbed .. I know there's plenty of more important stuff I should be reading but this guy's books are like crack you smoke through your eyes.
Speaking of things that are like crack, Carrot Green Pepper Apple Broccoli Asparagus Orange Lemon Kale juice is delicious. If I could add some chlorella, wheat grass and spirulina, I'd be set ... mmm, Vitamins Are Good.

Hi
3:09 PM
and a good day to yous, Monsieur ou Madame.
12:07 AM
Hello, indeed. We could always see if we can lock ourselves in a cabin for New Years? Perhaps, we can actually get more people this time, and more Mountain Dew and gins.
Check out this outfit. I think it is you.
9:46 AM
I should be around to hang out. Just let me know when you get to Philly.
9:52 AM
Also, it looks like I was signed up for the Millenium Mile (either by Heidi or Jared... I am not sure). You could run like the wind.
10:31 AM
That girl and I will be in Buffalo for New Years, as that is the day upon which my sister has decided to get married. Fwee!
Odd that you bring up the Karate Kid, as I just watched that on cable this past weekend, and I now have a deep desire to watch the second one again. You're the best! Around! Nothings ever gonna keep you down!
Did you ever play the karate kid game for the NES? I loved that game, especially the fly catching and ice breaking mini games. "Cheating" on the older NES gmaes a turbo controller was the bomb.
11:31 AM
Fly catching and Ice Breaking were indeed the shit but that damn swinging crane mini-game sucked. I only managed to beat it once.

Thanks Russ, now I`m going to have that song stuck in my head for the rest of the day. Either that or the "Danger!" song they play when he`s getting chased. Ahh, the narrative soundtrack.
Cheating with the turbo controller? That`s not what karate is all about.
As for the Millenium Mile thing, I`m trying to figure something out. It`s January 1, right? And weren`t we at that cabin on New Year`s Eve last year? How the hell did Jared run the Millenium Mile (I was there) if we were at the cabin? Am I getting my years screwed up?
