Study study. (sort of)

What I said: "I'm going to come to Japan and build a portfolio in my spare time so that when I come back to the US I can change careers and do something with art."

What I meant: "I'm going to come to Japan and spend every damned night in my apartment with this girl I met at the gym."

Not that I'm complaining. I certainly am leveling up in at least one regard; first, the obvious .. second, I'm being exposed to a whole new realm of Japanese I wouldn't have experienced otherwise. Sure, the guys at work teach me some dirty stuff, but somehow it sticks better when you have things shouted into your ear. All right, I won't go into any more detail than that. I don't want the spammers to become the only readers of this thing!

Normally I wouldn't mention such a thing, but that's basically what I've been doing lately, so if I exclude that I've got nothing. Except:

Naked Lunch is kind of starting to lose me. Sure, it's cool as hell, but it's hardly what I'd call gripping, and it actually takes quite a bit of concentration to follow what the hell's being said, so I find myself dozing off a lot while trying to read it .. and I'm still only on page 50. I want to finish it and pick up either The Great Gatsby or How to Be Good by Nick Hornby (thanks to Indriana for getting me hooked on this guy) .. what do you do when you want to finish a book so you can start some different ones, but every time you try to read it you fall asleep? It'd be an easy decision if books here didn't cost $15-$20 .. or is that normal nowadays? I suppose it is.

What else ... there may have been more, but I am exhausted. Oh yeah, my monitor came, and now my computer doesn't work. I was going to operate on it today (it was a day off for some reason), but I got "sidetracked." Look how disappointed I am.
