So, Amtrak's going bankrupt, American Airlines and Delta are financially doomed, and Ford is about to join its founder Henry deep in the pits of hell.
Oh, and schools are penniless, apparently there are no jobs anywhere, and Social Security is about to get trashed.
Where the fuck is all our money going?

Amtrack, Septa, Social Security, Medicaid, Eduction, Welfare, etc, are all bankrupt because all socialistic programs are doomed failures. Never once has a socialist program ever succeeded longterm.
All others are going bankrupt from government intervention with regulations and mandates.
Sad part is, soon all of our money will be worthless as the value of the dollar is decreasing almost daily. I would recommend to everyone to invest in gold or something that has material (precious metals, diamonds, etc). Fait money is back by absolutely nothing. But maybe there is hope for an alternative.

That being said, im not so apocalyptic. I'm not terribly worried. Concerned, but we aren't going anywhere that quickly. I think that like with all news (which needs to be sensationalist to sell), things are largely blown out of proportion.

When plane and train tickets keep skyrocketing, schools start soliciting money from their own students and the prez announces a drastic revamping (i.e. removal) of the SS system, I don't see it as sensationalization by the news. Not to mention the fact that the Euro now pwnz0rz the dollar bill. Oh crap, I mentioned it.

They fucked themselves by fucking their customers for years.. and the small airlines are doing fine.. southwest, jet blue, etc. I feel no remorse for the airlines that go under.

What school doesn't do that? Vandy has always done that for as long as I've known. They called my mom for donations while I was still in school there.

From what i've read, the SS system isn't even that broken. They are making a big deal out of it to make people believe that it needs to be fixed. I'm in no position to argue this, but i'm going to call bullshit on the prez anyway.

And the pound has for a long time. We've been on a downslide for a while, but I don't believe its the end just like that. Republican or not, there is no way they are gonna cut into their own pockets on the basis of values. They don't care about values, they care about money. Sure the dollar is going down vs the euro, but i doubt we are rapidly on the way out as some would suggest. I think, however, if we don't fix some shit, then yes, we are bound for trouble.

I'm with AK for feeling no remorse for the airlines that go under. I'm for the privatization of just about everything. If a compnay can't run a profitable business, then find someone else who will. It's not our fault American Airlines and Delta cannot compete with Southwest and AirTran airliners. The problem with the budget deficit comes from the damn government bailouts to failures like Amtrak and Septa. For the love of SOMEONE, let them go bankrupt and have another company buy it up and run it successfully.
